The Municipality of Port Hope is advantageously located on the shore of Lake Ontario bordering both the north and south side of Highway 401 for a distance of approximately 14 kilometers. 100 kilometers east of Toronto, within 30 minutes' drive of Oshawa.

Proximity to Transportation
ROAD: Located on Hwy #401 within five minutes of the eastern border of the Greater Toronto Area and within 4 to 12 hours' drive of all the major industrial market centres in North America. 3 interchanges along the Hwy #401: Hwy #28 (links to Hwy #7), Hwy #2 and Wesleyville Road. Hwy #2 runs parallel to Hwy #401 from Toronto to Kingston.
RAIL: CP and CN rail service available with direct access to ports of Montreal, Vancouver and U.S. seaway ports. Industrial development assistance at no charge to companies expanding or relocating. VIA Rail provides weekday regular passenger and commuter train service.
AIR: One hour from Pearson International Airport (Toronto), 30 minutes to Peterborough, Oshawa and Trenton Airports, all three of which handle cargo (Canada Custom authorized) and scheduled passenger service.
PORT: Port of Oshawa 50 kms west of Port Hope with waterway access to South Central Ontario, North Eastern United States and international ports via the St. Lawrence Seaway. Port Hope harbour available for recreational boating use.
