Fire Department Information

Fire Inspection Information

The Fire Prevention Division of the Fire Department is diligently working to bring all buildings within the municipality into compliance with the Ontario Fire Code. The Ontario Fire Code clearly states that the Owner / Agent of each building is responsible for the correction of fire violations in their buildings.

Fire Department Structure

Under the leadership of the Director of Fire and Emergency Services, there are presently three (3) District Chiefs, nine (9) Captains, two (2) Acting Captains and fifty one (51) firefighters working out of three fire stations within the municipality :

Station 1 - Port Hope
This is the home of the main administrative office that is located at 245 Ontario Street in Port Hope. Under the command of a District Chief of Suppression, there are 23 Firefighters, and 3 Captains. The District Chief of Training is also based out of this station. Station 1 has the following apparatus in its truck bay:

  • 100' Elevating Platform (aerial)
  • 4000 litre Pumper
  • Rescue Truck
  • Compressed Air Foam Truck

Station 2 - Welcome
Located at 4366 County Road 2. Under the command of a District Chief of Suppression, there are 15 Firefighters, 3 Captains and 1 Acting Captain. Station 2 has the following apparatus in its truck bay:

  • 4000 litre Pumper
  • Rescue Truck
  • 2500 gal. Pumper/Tanker

Station 3 - Garden Hill
Located at 3585 Ganaraska Road. Under the command of a District Chief of Suppression, there are 13 Firefighters, 3 Captains and 1 Acting Captain. Station 3 has the following apparatus in its truck bay:

  • 4000 litre Pumper
  • 1800 gal. Tanker
  • 4X4 Grass Fire Truck
  • Compressed Air Foam Truck
