The Municipality has investigated several options to bring administrative departments to a central location with a view to maintaining administrative offices in our vibrant downtown core and providing functional space for both customers and Staff. The location at 5 Mill Street provides an excellent opportunity to bring our Municipal Development Team into one location.

While Economic Development, Planning & Development Services and Works and Engineering departments (formerly known as Public Works) each have dedicated tasks and priorities, the development process frequently requires input and involvement from all three departments and they form the core of our Municipal Development Team.

The Municipal Development Team provides a coordinated approach to large and small scale development and the departments work closely together to expedite process and ensure all requirements are met. With the three departments together in the 5 Mill Street office, customer service will be further enhanced and Staff will be able to engage in regular consultation and access information quickly. This will result in a more streamlined application process for our residential and development customers with a single access point, eliminating the need to travel from office to office.

* Tourism Staff and Visitor's Centre will remain at the 20 Queen Street storefront location.
