Councillor David Turck - Ward 1
Chair, General Government and Finance Committee
David Turck was born and raised in Port Hope, the son of Ray and Eileen Turck, longtime fixtures in the Port Hope business community. After holding corporate positions in international food companies for 25 years, David followed his parents into the restaurant business and recently retired after owning and operating Turck's Talk of the Town for 11 years.
Elected to Council in 2006, David is the chair of the General Government and Finance Committee and puts his many years of business and finance experience to work as a member of the Budget Committee, Audit Committee, Heritage Incentives Committee, Labour Relations Committee and Port Hope Cemetery Board.
Councillor Turck also serves on the Port Hope Library Board, Waterfront Implementation Steering Committee, Port Hope District Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
David and his wife, Debbie, raised their son and daughter in Port Hope and now enjoy being grandparents. David has an open-door policy with the citizens he represents and welcomes calls or emails on issues of local concern.
