Councillor Cal Morgan - Ward 2

Chair, Planning and Development Committee

Cal Morgan has lived in the Municipality of Port Hope for 46 years, residing in the beautiful rural community of Garden Hill, where he and his wife, Betty, raised their two youngest children and saw them off to university. A graduate of Trent University in Peterborough, Cal holds a degree in Sociology. He retired in 1995 after 31 years with General Motors, having spent 12 years in communications, editing and publishing internal communications.

Cal was first elected to Council in 2000 and serves as chair of the Planning and Development Committee and is a member of the Agricultural Advisory Committee.

Councillor Morgan has served as Treasurer of the East Durham Historical Society, and volunteered with the Ward 2 Community Policing Committee. He is a past member of the Community Editorial Board of the Port Hope Evening Guide (now NorthumberlandToday.com) and served seven years as a Pastoral Care Volunteer at Regency Manor home for seniors.

Strongly committed to reconciling economic development with environmental integrity, Cal is dedicated to preserving prime farmland.
