Work on the relining of the wastewater outfall pipe, a critical sewer project, has begun in the area of Lake Street. To complete this work, a small portion of Lake Street, close to the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and a portion of the Waterfront Trail, adjacent to the Sculthorpe Marsh, is closed until the end of 2023.
This construction work is a structural relining of the only discharge sewer pipe in the Municipality. The pipe that is being relined is from the original wastewater treatment facility, which dates back to 1956. This project is included in the 2023 capital budget.
