ROUTINE DISCLOSURE PLANS/FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (FOI)

The Municipality of Port Hope prides itself on its efforts to be both accountable and transparent about it processes and information flow.  For this reason, each Department has prepared a Routine Disclosure Plan identifying the types of documentation regularly available to anyone requesting the information and does not require a formal request under a Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy legislated process.

Below is a summary of the Corporate Routine Disclosure Plan for the Municipality of Port Hope.  Persons are encouraged to contact the Department who is responsible for the specific information you wish to request.  Departments will make every effort to provide this information in a timely manner and all applicable Fees and Charges will apply for photocopies etc. required to provide the information  (Fees & Charges By-Law click here).

For any types of documents requested that are not listed on the Directory of Records, the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) provides that individuals with a right to access municipal information and must make application using the prescribed form. All applications must be submitted at the Corporate Services office at 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.

Please note there is a filing fee for each request for access under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The Act also provides that certain costs can be charged for access to records, for example search time and photocopies.
