FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (FOI)
The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) provides individuals with a right of access to certain records under the custody or control of the Municipality of Port Hope. The Act provides that individuals wishing to access municipal information must make application using the prescribed form. All applications must be submitted at the Corporate Services office at 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.
There is a filing fee for each request for access under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The Act also provides that certain costs can be charged for access to records, for example search time and photocopies.
