Complaint Protocol- Code of Ethics |
The Municipality of Port Hope adopted a Code of Ethics By-law #124/2007 on December 4, 2007 that applies to Council members. An Integrity Commissioner has been appointed and will receive and assess alleged breaches of the Municipal Code of Ethics and where deemed appropriate conduct and investigation of the alleged breach of Code of Ethics. |

Heritage Approvals Guide and Application Form

This guide is applicable to those applications that relate to new or expanding multi-residential, institutional, commercial and industrial developments in accordance with the Municipality of Port Hope requirements, inclusive of: Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Plans of Subdivision, and Site Plan Control Approval.
If you believe that a candidate's election campaign finances contravened the Municipal Elections Act, submit an Application for an Election Compliance Audit to the attention of the Municipal Clerk
A Heritage Approval is required to undertake changes to properties or to signage on properties designated under the Ontario Heritage Act or are within a Heritage Conservation District. Internal changes to a building on a designated property do not normally require a Heritage approval if external appearance is not affected. The designation by-law for the property will outline the specific elements of the building that are to be preserved. |

Municipal Freedom of Information (FOI) |
The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) provides individuals with a right of access to certain records under the custody or control of the Municipality of Port Hope. |

Minor Variance |
If you have existing or proposed development which does not comply with the regulations contained in the zoning by-law, you may apply to the Committee for relief from the zoning by-law by submitting a Minor Variance Application to the Committee of Adjustment |

Site Plan Application |
A Site Plan Application is required to control or regulate the various features on the site of an actual development including building location, landscaping, drainage, parking, and access by pedestrians and vehicles. |

Special Events Application* |
All special events in the Municipality are required to complete and submit a "Special Events Application" to coordinate all Municipal Department comments and resources. This application serves to coordinate special event preparations between event organizers and municipal departments and must be submitted for a special event to be approved by Council. |

Special Occasion Permit Application - Provincial* |
Required where liquor is offered for sale or served anywhere OTHER than a licensed establishment or private place. Special Occasion Permits are for occasional special events only, and not for personal profit. If you intend to serve liquor for personal profit, you must obtain a liquor licence. |

Zoning By-law/Official Plan Amendment Application Form |
If you have existing or proposed development which does not comply with the policies or regulations contained in the Official Plan and Zoning By-law you must apply for an amendment by completing an application and submitting all required information and feesto the Planning and Development Services Department. The process to obtain a Zoning By-law or Official Plan amendment is a public process which is processed in accordance with Ontario Planning Legislation (Planning Act R.S.O. 1990). |
