Consent / Severance Form

Submitted to the Committee of Adjustment to request creation of new parcels of land through severance, boundary adjustment, easement or correction of title, leases, right-of-way or easements. 

Minor Variance

For existing or a proposed development which does not comply with the regulations contained in the zoning by-law, you may apply to the Committee for relief from the zoning by-law by submitting a Minor Variance Application to the Committee of Adjustment

Heritage Approvals Guide and Application Form

A Heritage Approval is required to undertake changes to properties or to signage on properties designated under the Ontario Heritage Act or are within a Heritage Conservation District. Internal changes to a building on a designated property do not normally require a Heritage approval if external appearance is not affected. The designation by-law for the property will outline the specific elements of the building that are to be preserved.

Site Plan Application

A Site Plan Application is required to control or regulate the various features on the site of an actual development including building location, landscaping, drainage, parking, and access by pedestrians and vehicles.

Subdivision Application

A plan of subdivision or condominium is an application process by which multiple lots or blocks are created from an existing property. An approved plan of subdivision or condominium is required for the lots or blocks to be sold separately, and a registered plan will outline the details as to how those lots or blocks can be developed.

Zoning By-law/Official Plan Amendment Application Form

For existing or proposed development which does not comply with the policies or regulations contained in the Official Plan and Zoning By-law you must apply for an amendment by completing an application and submitting all required information and fees to the Planning and Development Services Department. The process to obtain a Zoning By-law or Official Plan amendment is a public process which is processed in accordance with Ontario Planning Legislation (Planning Act R.S.O. 1990).

Complaint Protocol- Code of Ethics

The Municipality of Port Hope adopted a Code of Ethics By-law #124/2007 on December 4, 2007 that applies to Council members. An Integrity Commissioner has been appointed and will receive and assess alleged breaches of the Municipal Code of Ethics and where deemed appropriate conduct and investigation of the alleged breach of Code of Ethics.

Municipal Freedom of Information (FOI)

The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) provides individuals with a right of access to certain records under the custody or control of the Municipality of Port Hope.

Election Compliance Audit

If you believe that a candidate's election campaign finances contravened the Municipal Elections Act, submit an Application for an Election Compliance Audit to the attention of the Municipal Clerk

Enrollment form for pre-authorized water/sewer payments. Form must be printed, completed and forwarded to the Municipality with a void cheque.

Rolls Application

ROLLS service is available to eligible Port Hope residents who are unable to utilize regular public transit due to a physical disability (permanent or temporary). Service is currently available only in the urban area.  

 

Special Events

Special Events Application*

All special events in Port Hope are required to complete and submit a "Special Events Application". The application assists with the coordination of preparations between event organizers and municipal departments. All applications are subject to Council approval.

Special Occasion Permit Application - Provincial*

Required where liquor is offered for sale or served anywhere OTHER than a licensed establishment or private location. Special Occasion Permits are for occasional special events only, and not for personal profit. If you intend to serve liquor for personal profit, you must obtain a liquor licence.

Special Occasion Permit Application - Municipal*

To permit outdoor licensed events (i.e. beer tents) and is REQUIRED to obtain Provincial Special Occasion Permit)

*All special events in the Municipality of Port Hope are subject to approval by Council.
