Water and Sewer Rate Review 2010
The Municipality of Port Hope intends to pass a by-law under Part XII of the Municipal Act to amend the current water and wastewater rates to provide sufficient revenues to meet the legislated requirements of "The Sustainable Water and Sewage Systems Act" of Ontario. Prior to considering a new water and wastewater rate bylaw, Council held a Public Meeting on Feburary 16, 2010 to provide information on the cost of water and wastewater services review and methodology for determining rates recently prepared by Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. in the Water and Wastewater Rate Study - February 12, 2010
The Agenda package for that meeting sets out information on the description of the services, cost of providing the services, the amount of the fees, and the rationale for imposing the fees. This information can also be obtained from the Municipal Clerk as of February 12, 2010 at 56 Queen Street.
