ANIMAL CONTROL
The Town of Cobourg, Township of Hamilton, Township of Alnwick/Haldimand and Municipality of Port Hope are collective partners in a Joint Animal Services program providing animal pick-up services for domestic animals (dogs and cats) within the four municipalities' catchment area. The Township of Hamilton operates the Shelter of Hope Animal Services facility on behalf of the Joint Animal Services partners within the same catchment area.

Urban Wildlife
The Joint Animal Control Services program DOES NOT handle urban wildlife calls such as skunks, raccoons, bats. Residents are urged to contact a local pest control company who may or may not operate on a fee for service basis. Consult your local yellow pages for "Pest Control".
Coyotes
Coyotes have been sighted in the urban area of the Municipality of Port Hope, primarily within the boundaries of:Victoria Street to the west, Jocelyn Street to the north, Cavan Street to the east and Highland Drive to the south
