CIVIC AWARDS 2009
Each year the Municipality of Port Hope presents its Civic Awards for contributions and/or achievements bringing honour and/or enrichment to the Municipality of Port Hope. This year's presentations took place at the Capitol Theatre on February 11th.

Civic Awards Nominations Process
Nominations are only made through the process of nomination by the public. The Civic Awards Advisory Committee is seeking nominations from the members of the general public for any nominees worthy of civic recognition in the following categories:
Outstanding Citizen
In recognition of outstanding volunteer contribution to the community.
Outstanding Youth
In recognition of outstanding volunteer contribution to the community and to their school (must be 19 years of age or less as of Dec.31st. of the year nominated).
Community Service
Individual or group should have been involved in a project that has had considerable impact on the community and/or made a distinct contribution in making the Municipality a better place to live.
Achievement
Outstanding achievement in the arts (music, fine art, dance, writing, singing, public speaking, visual arts, etc.)
Athletics
An individual or team that has won a, provincial or higher, amateur championship during the previous year and for other athletic achievements acceptable to the Committee, that has brought honour to the Municipality of Port Hope.
Only individuals who have volunteered their time and service and/or competed at an amateur level and for which no remuneration or payment has been received shall be eligible for a Civic Award.
Nomination Process
Nomination submissions must be received at the Town Hall Administration Office prior to close of business on Friday January 8, 2010.
Nominations for all categories require a completed Civic Awards Nomination form
An Outstanding Citizen signature sheet or Outstanding Youth signature sheet are also required fornominations in these categories.
