Municipal Peer Review Team

The Port Hope Area Initiative proposes to clean up and implement the long term management of low level radioactive material and marginally contaminated soils in the Municipality of Port Hope. This peer review encompasses detailed technical review ofreports and studies prepared as part of the federal environmental assessment and licensing process.


Municipal Peer Review Team

Hardy Stevenson and Associates Limited (HSAL) is a multi-disciplinary firm of land use planners, engineers, technical and environmental specialists, and socio-economic specialists. Since 1990, Dave Hardy and HSAL staff and associates have successfully completed approximately 25 peer reviews. HSAL in association with Terraprobe Limited, Shoreplan Engineering Limited, the Niblett Environmental Associates, iTransConsultants, AMEC and individual associates are assisting Port Hope with peer review and technical advice on the Port Hope Project. The Firm is also assisting the Municipality of Clarington.

The Port Hope team is managed by Anthony Hobbs. Anthony is a professional geoscientist with extensive experience on soil and groundwater remediation projects, as well as working with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., the Low Level Radioactive Waste Management Office, and the Ministries of the Environment and other Provincial Agencies.
