2019 Proposed Budget to be Considered by Municipality of Port Hope Council at Regular Meeting December 18

Members of the media and the public are advised that the 2019 proposed budget will be presented to Council at the next regular Council Meeting on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall (56 Queen Street, Port Hope).

The Budget Committee deliberated for two days in an open, public meeting on December 10 and December 13, to review and discuss the draft 2019 financial plan. At the close of the meeting, the Budget Committee passed the budget and, in accordance with the procedural by-law, it will be presented to Council for final Municipal approval.

The proposed Budget is a 1.9% levy requirement increase after growth, and includes the Brown Street reconstruction as well as the construction of the Pemberton Road extension as the next step in the development of the Business Park.

The 2019 proposed budget documents, including comment forms, as well as the recordings of the Budget Committee two-day meeting can be reviewed at porthope.ca/budget. Residents can submit their feedback until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018.
