The Municipality of Port Hope's program registration is a first-come, first-served basis. Payment is required at the time of registration.

Winter 2 Aquatics and Programs runs from February 9 to April 26, 2026 (10 weeks). No Programs run over the March Break, March 16 to 22, 2026.

We recognize that registration is a busy time! We’ve listened to your feedback and have put systems in place to help ensure the fairest possible process. Please ensure you do your part and be ready!
Tips in advance of registration
  • Registration is done on a first come first service basis
  • You may only register people living in the same household as you – registering your friends will not be permitted
  • Ensure you have your account and 55+ membership updated in advance
  • Ensure you have a swim assessment completed before registration date to determine your child’s correct swim level
  • Ensure you have your questions answered about classes, instructors, levels before registration day
  • If you didn’t get your spot in your favourite class, go on-line and put your name on the waitlist – waitlists are monitored to determine the capacity for additional classes
  • Check back after registration to see if spots have opened up
  • Only register for the classes you want – Fees apply to refunds and your on-line service fee is not returned
Tips for completing your online registration
Be sure you have an active account with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture, if you forget your password- use the forgot password feature to update it. Logins are associated with your email. You can create a new account if needed.
Steps:
  1. When you are logged in to your account click Activities at the top of the page
  2. Click the green box enroll now beside the activity/program you are interested in registering for
  3. Select participant
  4. Make sure you fill out enrollment details.  You have to fill out medications/allergies, if you have none just put n/a in the field
  5. Add this transaction to your cart, your shopping cart now shows you have a pending transaction
  6. If you do not wish to register another family member or register for another program, read and complete waivers, initial and click the box that you have read the waiver.  If you would like to register an additional family member or register for another program, select Activities at the top of the page and complete the same process.  If you have added to the cart for each person/program, they will show in the cart.

What changes are happening with registration?
  • Port Hope is prioritizing registration for residents starting in the Winter 2 registration period
  • Port Hope residents will receive a 24-hour priority registration period before registration is open to everyone
  • The 80+ discount will be limited to Port Hope residents only
  • The 35% discount senior discount is still in effect
  • The additional 15% discount for 55+ members for fitness classes will be eliminated for everyone
Why do residents get priority for registration? 
  • Programs are in high demand; they fill up fast and popular programs have wait lists. We’re helping Port Hope residents enjoy first access to activities in their own community
  • Port Hope residents who live in Port Hope pay taxes that contribute to municipal operations
  • Non-residents will still have an opportunity to take advantage of our wonderful programs and facilities after resident-first registration is complete
How does resident-first registration work?
  • Resident-first registration will begin for Winter 2 registration on Monday January 26, 2026 at 7:30 a.m. for 24 hours.
  • Winter 2 registration start date for non-residents is Tuesday January 27 at 7:30 a.m.
  • Registration is done on a first-come, first-served basis and registrants may register online, by telephone or in person
  • You may only register people living in the same household as you – registering your friends will not be permitted
  • Only register for the classes you want – Administrative fees apply to online registrations, cancellations, refunds and transfers
How do I prepare for registration?
  • Check your account information with us to ensure your address is correct in our system – if you want to make changes to your address you will be required to provide proof of address
  • Ensure you have an active on-line account 
  • Ensure you have your account and 55+ membership updated
  • Ensure you have a swim assessment completed to determine your child’s correct swim level
  • Ensure you know what day, time and class you would like to register for
What if I don’t get into the class I wanted?
  • If you didn’t get into the class you wanted, add your name to the waitlist – waitlists are monitored regularly to determine the capacity for additional classes
  • Check back after registration to see if spots have opened up
What if I own property in Port Hope, but live in another community? If you own property in Port Hope and pay taxes you are eligible for resident-first registration, just ensure your account with us has your Port Hope property listed as your address. If you need to change your address on your account, you will need to provide proof of address.
What if I don’t live in Port Hope, but my child does when they are with their other parent?
  • If your child has a Port Hope address with any custodial parent/guardian, then they will be eligible for resident-first registration
  • The parent with the Port Hope address is eligible for resident-first registration
  • The parent with the non-resident address will not be eligible for resident-first registration
Do I need to provide proof of address? If your account is not up to date or you want to change the address on your account, you will be required to provide proof of address/residency
What discounts are still available?
  • Anyone 55 years of age or older is eligible for a 35% discount on any registration
  • Families with multiple children may be eligible for a multi-child discount
  • Port Hope residents 80 years of age or older may register at no charge
What if I cannot afford the registration fee? The Municipality of Port Hope has a subsidy policy to ensure all residents may participate without barriers. Please see our Recreation Fee Assistance webpage for more info.
Recreation fee assistance
The Municipality of Port Hope believes that everyone should have the chance to participate. Recreation fee assistance is available to those who live in the Municipality.
Changes, refunds, and cancellations
Any changes or refunds to a program registration will be charged the $17.75 administrative fee. The administrative fee will be waived for refunds with medical proof. Refunds requested after the start of a session will be pro-rated based on the number of classes completed. For Aquatics Programs after week 2, no refund will be given.

If a program is cancelled due to insufficient registration you will be notified. When possible, a different time or day will be offered. If the alternate day does not work for you, a full refund or credit will be given. There is no administration fee for programs cancelled by the Municipality.

ActiveNet service charge fees for online registration are not refundable.

Multi-child discount
The multi-child discount applies to immediate family members only. The transactions must also occur on the same receipt. The discount applies to:
  • Swimming lessons
  • Children's programs
  • Day camp
 Discount rate
  • Second child- 5% off
  • Third child or more- 10% off
