Free Transit on Routes A and B Continues During Walton Street Reconstruction – Phase 3

The Municipality of Port Hope is pleased to share that free transit service will once again be offered on Transit Routes A and B within Port Hope, beginning Monday, May 5, 2025. This fare suspension, first introduced during the 2024 construction season, is being reinstated to support the community through Phase 3 of the Walton Street Reconstruction Project.

Transit Changes to Accommodate Phase 3 of the Walton Street Reconstruction

With the upcoming closure of Walton Street (April 1, 2025) for phase 3 of the Walton Street Reconstruction Project, Transit Services will be implementing route changes beginning Monday, March 31, 2025, and will continue until the completion of the Walton Street Reconstruction project in the fall.

To ensure continued transit service, we have arranged for modified transit routes during this period. Please take note of the following changes:

2024 Municipal Holiday Hours

Administrative office holiday hours will take effect beginning on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. and will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at their regular office hours.

During this time, municipal administrative offices remain closed and administrative staff services will not be available.

2024 Updates Transit Services

Residents are advised that free transit services will end on December 31. Starting January 2, regular user fees will apply once again. Thank you to all who utilized the free transit services during the Walton Street Reconstruction, your support and understanding during this period is appreciated.

Walton Street Reopening Update

The Municipality of Port Hope is pleased to announce that the reconstruction of Walton Street (Phase 2) is nearly complete.

The festivities planned for this weekend, including the Candlelight Walk, Block Friday: Moonlight Madness, and Santa Claus Parade will proceed as planned.
