Pool Schedule and Reservations 

Link to online reservations Lane, adult, family and public swims will be available starting July 6. Schedules will be posted each week on Thursdays for the following week. Reservations will be available online or over the phone starting at 7am Thursdays for the upcoming week.

Jack Burger Sports Complex Hours of Operation- for phone in reservations and pool times starting on Monday, July 6 from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Reservation process:

  • Adult, lane and family swims can be reserved online or over the phone.
  • Public swims can only be reserved over the phone.
  • Reservations made prior to the day of swim will be required to pay online or over the phone, and reservations made the day of can be paid in person.
  • Payments online or over the phone can be made with credit card, in person by cash, debit or cheque. We are not currently accepting passes; however, we will extend the date for passes once pass use is reinstated. 

Important dates:

  • July 6: Pool opens by reservation only
  • July 9: swim schedule and reservations for July 12-18 available


For the Week of July 6-10

  • Adult Swim:7:00 to 7:45 a.m., 8:15 to 9:00 a.m., 12:15 to 1:00 p.m., 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.
  • Family Swim: 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., 10:45 to 11:30 a.m., 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.
  • Lane Swim: 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., 10:45 to 11:30 a.m., 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.
  • Public Swim: 2:45-3:30pm, 4:00-4:45pm

For July 11

  • Adult Swim: 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.
  • Family Swim: 2:00 to 2:45 p.m., 3:15 to 4:00 p.m.
  • Lane Swim: 2:00 to 2:45 p.m., 3:15 to 4:00 p.m. 

All swims are by reservation only, this allows for appropriate timed entry.  Reservations opens on July 2 at 9 a.m.

Adult, family and lane Swims can be reserved both online or over the phone. Public swim resesrvations will only be accepted over the phone. The hot tub and diving board will remain closed at this time.

  1. Pre-register for your swim either online or over the phone at 905-885-2474. 
  2. Payments must be made online or over the phone if you are reserving days in advance. Reservations made the day of can be paid when you arrive. Reservation space is limited.
  3. Payment by credit card and debit are encouraged, however, cash and cheques are still being accepted.
  4. Please arrive only 5 to 10 minutes before your swim, as you will not be permitted to go into the changerooms early.
  5. Complete your attendance and screening with customer service.
  6. Once registered, you will be directed to a marker to wait until change rooms have been cleared and disinfected.
  7. Masks are recommended, but not required in the building. They may be worn on the pool deck but may not be worn in the water even if you do not plan to put your face in the water.
  8. Staff will indicate when you may enter the changeroom to change before your swim. This will occur after it has been cleaned.
  9. Please have a cleansing shower before going into the water.
  10. Equipment can be borrowed, but we ask that you please place items back in the bucket to be cleaned after your swim.
  11. Swim times are 45 minutes in length with 30 minutes between swims, to allow patrons to shower  and change and so that change rooms can be disinfected before the next group. You will not be able to swim during the cleaning time if you sign up for two swims in a row.
  12. Snorkels will not be allowed at this time.
  13. Showers are available before and after your swim, but they do not have shower curtains.
  14. After your swim, please change quickly so that we have time to clean the change room before the next group comes in.
  15. The schedule will be posted each week on Thursdays and reservations open at 7 a.m. Schedules are being reviewed and may be adjusted based upon use.
  16. We welcome your comments and feedback. On your way out, let us know we are doing.
  17. We will all need to work together to keep JBSC staff and patrons safe. Everyone needs to do their part, please be kind to each other during this challenging time.

1. Go to our online registration software. Select Sign In. 
2. Enter your e-mail address and password. Select Login.
   a. If you forgot or do not know your password, select ‘forgot your password’ to create a new one.
   b. If you are unsure if you have an account, please call us at 905-885-2474. We will be able to check if you are in the system and add an e-mail address to your account.
3. Hover over Activities from the top banner. Select Recreational Swimming.
4. Select which swim you would like to attend. Please note, you must call 905-885-2474 to reserve a spot for public swimming.
5. View the times and days available. Select the Enroll Now (at the top of the screen).
   a. All swims are restricted to 45 minutes.
   b. If booking multiple swims, please be aware that there is a 30-minute cleaning time in between each swim.
6. Select the participant you are registering. Select Continue.
7. Select the specific days and times that you would like to attend. Select Add to Cart.
   a. If using the block booking option at the top, make sure you click show on calendar before clicking Add to Cart.
   b. The top of this page will say Camp Reg Enrollment. You are in the correct spot.
8. View your payment charges. Click Continue.
9. View your shopping cart and complete the required waivers.
   a. If you have a credit on your account, it will automatically deduct your charges. Select Finish.
   b. If there is no credit on your account, enter your payment information to finish.
   c. If you are wanting to add an additional participant, go back to step 3 and complete the process for the next participant.
Processing fees are applied to all online transactions. These fees are charges by the software company, not the Municipality of Port Hope.
10. To view your schedule, go to My Account. Select Family Member’s Schedule.

All registered lessons from Winter II session (February 10-April 27) have been cancelled and credits will be applied to your account on a prorated basis (cancellations will be effective from March 13). Information relating to the COVID19 situation is posted regularly at check this page frequently for updates.

Session certificates for Winter II will not be issued.

For Aquatics programs, including pre-school and swim kids classes, individual evaluation of skills are completed on an ongoing basis. Some participants may have displayed the required skills to advance to the next level, which will be applicable to that individual for the next session registration. If the parent has a valid email on file, and their child has completed the level they were registered in, staff will send an email notifying of what level they should register in next.

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of children using the facility during public and family swims, the following admission standards are in place.  Supervision and ratio requirements will be strictly upheld.

If swim test is passed = Green wristband and can swim in both pools

If cannot pass the swim test = Red wristband.  Must stay in small pool or shallow end of 25m pool only.

  1. Children 5 years and under ALWAYS accompanied by a caregiver in arms reach at a ratio of 1:3
  2. Children 6-9 years who cannot pass the swim test, receive a Red wristband and ALWAYS accompanied by a caregiver in arms reach at a ratio of 1:4
  3. Children 6-7 years who can pass the swim test receive a Green wristband.  Caregiver must remain in the pool and the child must complete the swim test each visit.
  4. Children 8-9 years of age and can pass the swim test receive a Green wristband.  Caregiver must remain in the facility.
  5. Children 10-13 years of age.  No supervision is required (please note that all family swims require adults with children based on swim description).

Caregiver Must be at least 14yrs of age and are responsible for the children in their care while in the facility.

Facility Swim Test = Must swim continuously 1 length of the 25m pool.  Any aged swimmer may be asked to do the swim test.

The Jack Burger Sports Complex houses a 25-metre pool, therapy pool and whirlpool. As an authorized provider of Red Cross and Lifesaving Society swim programs, children, youth, adults and seniors can participate in structured swim lessons or drop in for one of our open swim times. Swim supplies are available at the Customer Service Desk.
