Commissioners of the Port Hope Harbor

The Commissioners of the Port Hope Harbor (CPHH) was established as a body corporate in 1853 through the Port Hope Harbour Vesting Act for the regulation and management of the harbour.

As stipulated by the Vesting Act, the CPHH is the owner of specified lands at the Port Hope harbour and, independent of the Municipality of Port Hope, is responsible for the harbour and associated lands.

Day to day maintenance and operational matters of the harbour are administered by the Municipality of Port Hope Parks, Recreation and Culture department on behalf of the CPHH.
