Christmas Tree Disposal

Residents are advised that Christmas tree disposal will take place in the Municipality from January 2 to 10, 2025. 

Urban Residents

• Please ensure that all nails, metal bases, ornaments, lights, and other decorations are removed from your tree
• Place your bare Christmas tree at your curbside
• If you live within the Williamsport Condo Corp. (Fenton Lane, Shortreed Lane, Potts Lane) please bring your tree to Strachan Street for pickup

Important Information on Water, Wastewater, and Tax Bill Payments

With the ongoing Canada Post labour disruption, the Municipality of Port Hope is encouraging residents to seek out alternative methods for receiving and paying their tax and water/wastewater bills to avoid potential delays. You are responsible for paying your bill on time.

2024 Municipal Holiday Hours

Administrative office holiday hours will take effect beginning on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. and will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at their regular office hours.

During this time, municipal administrative offices remain closed and administrative staff services will not be available.

2023 Audited Financial Statements

Residents are advised that the 2023 Audited Financial Statements are now complete. Please contact our Finance Department by email for copies of the financial statements.

Walton Street Reopening Update

The Municipality of Port Hope is pleased to announce that the reconstruction of Walton Street (Phase 2) is nearly complete.

The festivities planned for this weekend, including the Candlelight Walk, Block Friday: Moonlight Madness, and Santa Claus Parade will proceed as planned.
