Winter Parking Restrictions Begin December 1

Winter parking restrictions take effect on December 1 and continue through the winter until March 15. This means there is no on-street parking permitted on snow routes from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. This is in effect so that our snowplows can clear the streets safely, when required.
Here are additional useful winter tips:
- Whenever possible, please refrain from parking on the streets during snowfalls. This helps municipal staff clear the streets more efficiently.

Candlelight Walk and Santa Claus Parade Road Closures and Parking Disruptions

The Candlelight Walk returns down Walton Street and this year is going to be bigger and better than ever as we celebrate the conclusion of the Walton Reconstruction Project and kick-off the holiday season with a downtown street party on Friday, November 28.
The following day, on Saturday, November 29, the Santa Claus Parade will also take place on Walton Street at 1:00 p.m. Residents are advised of the following traffic, parking, and transit interruptions to accommodate these events:

Shaftesbury Murdoch XIX Inc. will be in town next week filming scenes for an upcoming episode of Murdoch Mysteries. Filming will take place on John Street and Augusta Street.
Tuesday, November 11Film crews will be set dressing both John Street and Augusta Street. Beginning at 3:00 p.m., Crews will begin reserving parking spaces on John Street, Augusta Street, Pine Street and Queen Street in anticipation of the filming on November 12.

A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.

Remembrance Day Services
On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, members of Branch 30 of the Royal Canadian Legion Port Hope will gather in Lent Lane at 10:15 a.m. to march down the lane to the Memorial Park Cenotaph (44 Queen Street) for the Remembrance Day Service beginning at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
