Monday, August 18, 2025 – Port Hope, ON
Municipality of Port Hope Mayor Olena Hankivsky will join more than 2,500 participants at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario's 2025 AMO Conference in Ottawa from August 17 to 20.
The 2025 AMO Conference brings municipal and provincial officials together as Ontario’s communities continue to face economic uncertainty fueled by the trade and tariff dispute with the United States.

Arts Festival Road Closure - August 9

A reminder that the Port Hope Arts Festival is this Saturday, August 9, throughout Downtown. Residents are advised of the following impacts to accommodate this year’s festival:
Road Closures- Augusta Street (from Queen Street to Elias Street) will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the outdoor vendor market.
- Queen Street (from Walton Street to Augusta Street) will be closed from 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. to accommodate an outdoor street concert.

Burn Ban in Effect - Wednesday, August 6

Due to extremely dry conditions and deteriorating air quality caused by ongoing wildland fires across Ontario and Manitoba, a County-wide Open Air Burn Ban is being implemented in Northumberland County, including the Municipality of Port Hope, effective immediately.
This burn ban has been enacted in coordination with fire services across the region to reduce the risk of wildfires and to protect public safety during this period of elevated fire danger.

Temporary Road Closure and Transit Detour – Cavan and Walton Street Intersection

As part of the ongoing Walton Street Reconstruction Project, crews will be working at the intersection of Cavan Street and Walton Street on Thursday, August 7, 2025, which will include some additional road closures and a limited water shut off.
This milestone marks the final connection required to complete the upgraded water system in Phase 3 of the Project.
