With heavy hearts, the Municipality of Port Hope grieves the tragic loss of our young resident Cormac Kerin, whose life was claimed on December 2, 2020, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. We offer our deepest condolences to the Kerin family, as well as Cormac’s friends, classmates, peers and all those impacted by the incident.

2021 Budget Consultation

Residents are advised that the 2021 proposed budget documents have been posted for public reviewand open to receive comments from residents.
A presentation of the proposed budget will take place at the upcoming Special Meeting of Finance Committee on Monday, December 7 and continue on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Members of the public can participate in this meeting. Meeting participation information will be posted on the meeting agenda, once it is ready and posted online.

Suction Dredging in Outer Harbour

Residents are advised that the Municipality of Port Hope is conducting a suction dredge of the Port Hope outer harbour. The dredging begins on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
The Municipality and Cameco Corporation have been working collaboratively to resolve issues related to Cameco’s cooling water intake, located along the west harbour wall, which has been impacted by sedimentation deposits. Cameco’s Conversion Facility continues to operate safely.

Mason Homes Phase 5 Appeal

On Friday, November 20, 2020, the Municipality of Port Hope received a letter of appeal to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) regarding the Penryn Mason Homes Phase 5 Subdivision (also called “Phase 5-Lakeside Village Community”). The appeal has been requested by the property owners (AON Inc., 2107401 Ontario Inc., Penryn Park Estates Inc., and Penryn Mason Homes Inc.).
