IT: Welcome to Derry's red carpet Canadian Premiere is happening at the Capitol Theatre Port Hope this October 29. The Port Hope community is invited to walk the red carpet and attend an exclusive screening of Episodes 1 and 2 of IT: Welcome to Derry. Design work begins for Cavan Street and Highland Drive Reconstruction

The early stages of the Cavan Street and Highland Drive Reconstruction Project are now underway. The design phase contract has been awarded to CIMA Canada Inc. (CIMA+), who will lead the investigations and detailed engineering needed to prepare reconstruction plans.
The project area includes:
- Cavan Street (from Walton Street to Highland Drive)
- Highland Drive (from Cavan Street to the west side of the Jack Burger Sports Complex)

Thanksgiving Holiday Closures

A reminder to residents that municipal administrative buildings, the Hope Transfer Station, Transit Services, the Town Park Recreation Centre, the Jack Burger Sports Complex, and the Public Library branches will be closed on Monday, October 13, 2025 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
All municipal services will resume at their usual business hours on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Transit Update – Walton Street Reopening

Walton Street is officially open, and transit service has now returned to its regular routes for both Route A and Route B. As a result, the temporary stops on South Street, Strachan Street, Pine Street, and Gifford Street are no longer in service.
Beginning October 14, transit fares will also resume for both Route A and Route B, following the completion of the Walton Street Reconstruction.
