Statement on the Rose Glen Road Industrial Fire

On April 9, 2025, a fire broke out at an industrial chemical plant in our community. It was a high-risk situation that required an extensive and coordinated response. All three fire stations in our Municipality were deployed, which included 14 apparatus and over 40 of our firefighters to contain and suppress the blaze, preventing what could have been a far more serious incident.

MTO Preliminary Work Underway for Upcoming Bridge Replacement

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has begun preliminary work in advance of a major infrastructure project that includes improvements to the Choate Road and Ganaraska River Bridges.
This extensive project is expected to take place over the next six construction seasons (May to December). Development Team Office Closure – April 8

Residents are advised that the Development Team Office (5 Mill Street South) will be closed to the public on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, to accommodate construction happening in the building.
Transit buses will not be affected by this closure.
Though the building will be closed to the public, staff will be working remotely and will be available by email throughout the day.
