With deep sorrow, the Municipality of Port Hope grieves the devastating loss of Port Hope resident Madison Chard, whose disappearance since mid-April has gripped our community. We offer our sincerest condolences to the Chard family, as well as Madison’s friends, coworkers and all those impacted by this loss.

Temporary Road Closure – Pine Street

Residents are advised that Pine Street (from Walton Street to South Street) will be closed on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Dekeyser Excavating will be on site preforming some digging in preparation for Phase 1 of the Walton Street construction project.

Councils for the Municipality of Port Hope, the Township of Hamilton, and the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand are pleased to announce improvements to the delivery of animal care services in their respective communities with the transfer of care and enforcement to the Northumberland Humane Society, effective immediately.

Transit Updates Beginning May 16

Residents are advised of the following updates to Municipal Transit Services beginning Monday, May 16.
- If you need a ride to/from East Beach this summer, we have you covered. We are reinstating the temporary stop at East Beach. This stop runs on Bus Route B and will stop approximately 55 minutes past every hour until Labour Day.
