Arena and Skating
The Municipality of Port Hope operates an indoor skating rink at the Jack Burger Sports Complex. We also maintain the outdoor skating rink at Caroline Street. The indoor skating arena is available for public use and rentals.
Arena Schedule:
January 9 to March 31, 2023
A modified schedule will be available for March 10 to 17, 2023.
Adult and Senior Lunch Skate |
For adults and seniors ages 18 and up.
Adult and Senior Lunch Skate is cancelled on February 20, 2023, for Family Day. |
Adult and Senior Shinny |
For adults and seniors ages 18 and up.

NEW Pre-Teen Shinny and Youth Shinny |
For pre-teens 10 to 12 years and youth 13 to 17 years old.

Family Stick and Puck |
For parents or caregivers and children. CSA approved helmet with a face shield is mandatory for everyone under 18 years old. All children 14 and under are to be accompanied by a caregiver 18 years of age or older.
Family Stick and Puck is cancelled on February 20, 2023, for Family Day. |
Public Skate |
For all ages. For children 9 years of age or younger, they must be accompanied by a caregiver age 14 years of age or older. CSA approved helmet is mandatory for everyone under 18 years old.

The Jack Burger Sports Complex was constructed in 1978 and was renovated to the exciting structure it is now in 2015.

The Municipality of Port Hope’s outdoor ice rink is a natural ice surface. Located on Caroline Street, lights are available when the rink is open.

Our admission standards are in place for your safety and enjoyment. We will uphold our supervision and ratio requirements. A caregiver must be at least 14 years of age and is responsible for the children in their care while in the facility. Ages 9 years and underFor children 9 years of age or younger, they must be accompanied by a caregiver age 14 years of age or older while in our facilities. 10 to 13 years old. No supervision required.For children 10 to 13 years of age there is no supervision required. Exception during Family Skates, all children 14 and under are to be accompanied by a caregiver 18 years of age or older. |
What to wear |
CSA approved helmet with a face shield is mandatory for everyone under 18 years old. No shoes are permitted on the ice surface. All participants on the ice must wear ice skates. |
