Children and Youth Drop-In Programs

We offer many children and youth drop-in programs throughout the year. There is something for everyone! Registration is not required for drop-in programs, but fees may apply. Check back often to see what we are offering as programs change regularly.

Youth Drop-In Spaces

Looking for more fun? Join us at one of our Youth spaces to build new friendships, develop self-confidence, learn something new, or just to have a safe place to hang out.

Youth Centre Drop-in

Our Youth Centre is a safe and inviting space for youth to socialize and engage in activities. Try your hand at air hockey, arcade games, ping pong or foosball. You can also lounge on one of our couches while charging your phone. Bring your friends and come join the fun!

  • Ages 13 to 19 years
  • Available anytime the facility is open
  • Tuesday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. 
  • Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: When the building is open
  • Location: Town Park Recreation Centre
  • FREE drop-in

Join us on Mondays for our Pre-Teen Drop-In Youth Centre:

  • Ages 10 to 12 years
  • Mondays: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

The youth room will be closed on October 13, 2025

Port Hope High Drop-in

Join us every Thursday during the school year at Port Hope High for our Youth Room Drop-In program. Each week will include free food, fun, and a variety of activities such as games, crafts, cooking and more.

  • Grades 7 to 12
  • Thursdays: 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Port Hope High School 
  • FREE drop-in
  • All are welcome, you do not have to attend Port Hope High School to drop-in.

Youth Drop-In Athletics: June 30 to November 16, 2025

Join us for these youth drop-in activities that provide a safe space to play and keep you active. Please see below for additional information on both child and youth gym times.

Youth Gym Drop-In

Come drop into the gym and play basketball, badminton, floor hockey, soccer, etc. 

Youth Gym details

The gym can be divided into two to offer different activities and choices.

  • Ages 13 to 19 years

Summer Session:

  • Tuesdays: 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Fall Session:

There will be no Youth Gym September 9 and 10, and October 22, 2025

Looking for something to keep your children active? Join us for some drop-in activities that require no pre-registration or commitment. Develop social skills, confidence and skill development - fun for kids of every age and stage!

Active Start: Gym Drop-In for Toddlers

Open gym for children to have unstructured play and plenty of space to burn off energy and socialize with other children.

Active Start details

Children will strengthen their gross and fine motor skills with a variety of equipment including toddler cars, balls, tunnels and more. 

  • Ages 0 to 3 years. All participants must be accompanied by an adult.

There will be no Active Start for August, and October 22, 2025.

Open Gym Drop-In

Come drop into the gym and play a variety of activities like basketball, floor hockey, soccer, etc. The gym can be divided into two to offer different activities and choices.

  • Ages 7 to 19 years. Any children under 10 years must be accompanied by an adult.

All Ages Stick and Puck details

CSA approved helmets are mandatory for all Stick and Puck participants, a helmet with a full face shield is mandatory for everyone under 18 years old.
