All garbage and recycling collection in Port Hope (Urban Area and Rural Area) is managed by the County of Northumberland. Urban Area Waste Collection

Rural Area Waste Collection

Residents in the Rural Area can dispose of waste and recyclables at the Hope Transfer Station located at 4775 5th Line (east of County Road#10), Port Hope  L1A 3V5. Please call 905.753.2030 for further information.  Please note the hours of the Hope Transfer Station below.

Bulky Rigid Plastics - Effective December, 2016
A recycling bin is now in place at the Hope Transfer Station for bulky rigid plastics. Items such as plastic toys, plastic lawn furniture, plastic recycling bins & carts are accepted. Non-acceptable items include plastic bags, plastic film, styrofoam, pool/chemical containers.

Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday:  9:00-5:00
Wednesday:  11:00 to 7:00
Thursday:  Closed
