The Municipality of Port Hope supports the business community by providing news updates, sharing funding and development opportunities, through the promotion of local events, and encouraging participation. This space will be dedicated to posting this information throughout the year and will be routinely updated.
Upcoming Events
Festivals and events take place throughout the year in Port Hope. Events are an excellent opportunity to attract tourism and drive local traffic to spend and forge new connections. Through aligned participation, businesses can leverage events to their advantage. Check out the event calendar and consider ways in which you can participate and promote activities taking place in Port Hope.
- Culture Days are back - join the momentum by hosting your own event, or participate in a workshop locally
- Small Business Week is an annual celebration and recognition of the incredible small businesses and entrepreneurs in our community. From October 16 to 22, we will be posting all of the ways that we are supporting small business in Port Hope.
- Exciting plans are in the works for this year's holiday season, including Candlelight Festival, the holiday light display, and the return of the Panto at the Capitol Theatre.
- Register a float for the Santa Claus Parade and plan ahead for the associated road closures on November 26.

- The Town Park Rec Centre Expansion Project is well underway. The facility remains open and the new seniors centre is on the horizon!
- The Municipal Election is currently underway. For more information on how and when to vote, visit porthopevotes.ca.
- Launching November 25, and then every Saturday in December: WRAP IT UP. Come and visit Chamber volunteers who will be gathering at Racine Law every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide free gift wrapping for all your holiday giving.

- The Municipality of Port Hope provides financial support to non-profit organizations and registered charities through our annual Community Grant Program - opening in September.
- There are many Municipal sponsorship and advertising outlets for businesses looking to connect with their target audience at events, programs, and in our facilities.
- The Municipality of Port Hope is once again participating in Digital Main Street! If you are interested in how this program can assist your business, let us know by emailing us. For more information about the program check out the Digital Main Street website.
- Have you been planning to upgrade, update or renovate your Downtown Port Hope Property? You may be eligible for Municipal funding! For more information on the Community Improvement Plan visit our CIP webpage.

HBIA Updates
The Port Hope Heritage Business Improvement Area oversees the improvement, beautification and maintenance of municipally-owned land, buildings and structures over and above what the Municipality covers. Additionally, the HBIA promotes the area as a business and/or shopping area.
Chamber Updates
The Port Hope and District Chamber of Commerce is Port Hope’s trusted Voice of Business focused on building a vibrant community where businesses thrive. The Chamber works with partners to advocate, educate, gather resources and build relationships that empower the business community and influence public policy.
