Winter Storm Warning

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for our region, expected late this week and into the holiday weekend. It is likely that heavy amounts of precipitation, flash freezing temperatures and high winds will occur.

Residents are reminded to be prepared for winter storms and power outages, which should include a plan and sufficient supplies to last for a minimum of 72 hours. Visit our emergency preparedness webpage for more information and suggestions on how you can prepare.

Walton Street Reconstruction - Timeline Update

Phase 1 of the Walton Street project is now complete for 2022. The final lift of asphalt and the correction of any deficiencies will be completed in 2023.

Phase 2 of the project, which includes full road reconstruction from Pine Street to Mill Street, is subject to budget approval and will be considered by Council as part of the 2023 budget deliberations.

Waterworks West Remediation (West Beach Area)

Following the Notice of Upcoming Work communicated by CNL on December 6, residents are reminded that the long-term closure of the West Beach parking lot and playground area begins Monday, December 19, 2022 (weather permitting). There will be lane interruptions and traffic delays in the surrounding area for the duration of this project. 2022 Municipal Holiday Hours

Administrative office holiday hours will take effect beginning on Friday, December 24, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at their regular office hours.

During this time, municipal administrative offices remain closed and administrative staff services will not be available.

Inclement Weather Reminders

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning in our region for this afternoon through tonight. Snowfall accumulations of 15 to 20 cm are predicted, which will cause reduced visibility and blowing snow.

Winter Parking reminders

A reminder that there is no on-street parking permitted on snow routes from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. This is in effect so that our snowplows can clear the streets safely, when required.
