Municipality of Port Hope Transit Bus

Port Hope Transit offers accessible transportation through its regular public transit fleet and, for those with additional accessibility needs, via its specialized ROLLS bus service. Learn more about these two options below.

Regular Public Transit and Accessibility

  • All of our transit buses are accessible for riders. Drivers are happy to assist those who require help to board and exit the bus. Visit our transit page for more details on rates, hours and routes.
  • We are committed to providing accessible Priority Seating on our transit vehicles. Priority seating is the first row of seating behind the bus driver and will be marked with a priority seating sign. Passengers must vacate the designated seating if it is required by a passenger with a disability.

ROLLS Specialized Bus Service

We are pleased to provide the ROLLS specialized (accessible) transit service to those who are unable to use regular public transit. If you are a resident of the Municipality of Port Hope with a disability (permanent or temporary), who is unable to board regular public transit, you may qualify to access ROLLS specialized bus service.

Information on how ROLLS Specialized Bus Service works

Learn more about our service areas, how to book a ride and more below.

Applying for ROLLS

Applications can be submitted online or in-person at 5 Mill Street South. We will review your application and notify you if you are approved to access the ROLLS specialized bus service. Once you’ve been approved, you can call us to make a reservation.

  • The driver is only required to wait for 5 minutes. If you don’t board within 5 minutes for the pick-up time, you may miss the bus
