Government Mandated Facility Updates

On December 10, 2021, the provincial government announced they are taking action to protect against the Omicron variant. Some of the announced changes affect the regulations in our recreational facilities:
Youth aged 12 to 17As of December 20, 2021, youth aged 12 to 17 years will be required to show a valid proof of vaccination if participating in organized sports at recreational facilities. This new mandate will affect our Jack Burger Sports Complex and Town Park Recreation Centre.
Enhanced...Access Interruption at Town Hall

Residents are advised that access to the west entrance of Town Hall (the rear door) will be limited on the morning of Friday, December 17. A tree service specialist will be on site removing the large spruce tree located between the public washrooms and the rear of the building. The health of the tree has been assessed professionally and unfortunately, has been deemed unsafe due to rot. It is being removed to protect the public and the property and staff will soon be exploring replanting options...
Express Transit to Cobourg Currently Unavailable

Residents are advised that the Express Cobourg Shuttle Bus is currently out of service due to mechanical issues. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible, thank you for your patience.

New Dual Stream System at the Hope Transfer Station

Rural residents are advised of the new recycling changes taking place on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the Hope Transfer Station. The facility is switching to a new dual stream system. This means, residents will need to sort their recycling loose into two categories: Papers and Containers.
There will be recycling bins on site for residents to pick up at no charge. These bins will assist residents in sorting their recycling at home for easy drop-off at the transfer site. Residents will need to...
Emergency Alert System Testing

Residents are advised that on November 24, 2021, Fire and Emergency Services will be testing its emergency alert system as part of an annual training exercise. During this test you may receive a phone message advising of the test. No actions are required from the public or local businesses.
