Municipal Election Nomination Period Now Open

The nomination period for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election is now open.

Candidate Information Packages are available at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.

To qualify as a candidate, you must be:

• A Canadian citizen;
• At least 18 years old;
• A resident in the Municipality of Port Hope, or;
• A non-resident of the Municipality of Port Hope and you or your spouse own or rent property in the municipality;

Proposed Removal of Holding Provisions – East Side of County Road 10

Council will be considering removing special “holding” restrictions (H4 and H5) from a vacant property located on the east side of County Road 10 (between Wright Road and Forest Crescent).
