For the second year in a row, the Municipality of Port Hope has prepared a modified Canada Day celebration with various virtual, self-guided and inventive programming for the local community that comply with the current restrictions due to the global pandemic.

Site Plan Approval Application - 71 Toronto Road

A Site Plan Application from the agent, Andrew Smith Building Design Inc. on behalf of the owner, Serghei lschenco for lands municipally known as 71 Toronto Road. A sign will also be posted on the lands subject to the proposed development.

Municipal Parking Lot Closure

Residents are advised that the municipal parking lot at the corner of Hope and Lake Streets is temporarily closing mid-June for approximately one month while remedial work is being conducted for the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) project. Public access will be restricted.
Alternate trail parking access is available at the Caldwell Street or Lake Street parking lots. There may be lane closures during this work, but no road closures are expected.

Strachan Street Partial Road Closure

Residents are advised that a small portion of Strachan Street (adjacent to the Lion Centre) will be closed beginning Monday, June 14, 2021, and will remain closed for a period of three months. Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) fieldwork will be conducted in the area to remove waste from the Strachan Street ravine. Access to Strachan Street is still available to the east and the west of the closure.
