Easter Holiday Closures

Residents are advised of the following impacts to services due to the upcoming Easter Holiday. 

Administrative building closures:

Municipal administrative buildings are closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, 2026.

For urgent services related to water or roads, call 905-885-2431 and press * to reach our after-hours emergency line.

Transit service impacts:

Municipal Transit service will run on a modified schedule for the holiday weekend.

• Friday, April 3 - no transit service
• Saturday, April 4 - standard Saturday hours (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
• Sunday, April 5 - no service on Sundays
• Monday, April 6 - reduced schedule (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

Transfer Station

The Hope Transfer Station will be closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6. Standard hours will resume on Tuesday, April 7. 

Recreation Facilities

Municipal recreation facilities and programs will be operating on a modified schedule through the weekend.  To be sure if drop-in programs are running, please visit our recreation schedule calendar.

Jack Burger Sports Complex

• Friday, April 3 - closed
• Saturday, April 4 - Standard Saturday hours
• Sunday, April 5 - closed
• Monday, April 6 -Standard Monday Hours

Town Park Recreation Centre

• Friday, April 3 - Closed
• Saturday, April 4 – Standard Saturday hours
• Sunday, April 5 - Closed
• Monday, April 6 - Standard Monday hours

Port Hope Public Library

The Port Hope Public Library is operating on a revised schedule for the Mary J. Benson branch. The Hub Branch remains closed. 

• Friday, April 3 - Closed
• Saturday, April 4 - Standard Saturday hours (10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
• Sunday, April 5 - Closed
• Monday, April 6 - Closed

All above services will resume on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at their usual operating hours.
