Administrative Monetary Penalty System
The Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) system provides an alternative process for managing certain municipal by-law contraventions. It allows certain contraventions to be resolved though a local administrative process, instead of through the Provincial Offences Act court system. The AMPS represents the next step in modernizing the Municipality's enforcement process. AMPS regulates both Penalty Orders and Penalty Notices.
Currently, only Penalty Orders are being utilized by the AMPS system.

Under the Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS), an Enforcement Officer can issue a Penalty Notice or Penalty Order when a by-law or Provincial legislation is violated. AMPs are used for designated offences, including:
