The Municipality of Port Hope Parks, Recreation and Culture (PRC) Department is set to celebrate Seniors’ Month in June, with planned activities and events taking place throughout the month, in recognition of the Province-wide initiative to celebrate older adults in our community.
“Celebrating Seniors’ month is always a priority for the Municipality and we’re looking forward to celebrating our senior citizens again this year,” explain Bob Sanderson, Mayor of the Municipality of Port Hope. “Each June we take time to recognize our older adults and this year is no exception – we have lots of activities and special events planned.”
This year, the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department are offering a series of events and activities throughout the month of June, including:
• Bring a friend to the Ruth Clarke Activity Centre (RCAC) for free admission for the entire month of June
• Weekly draws and prizes at RCAC all month long
• Older Adult Open House on June 21: Across Port Hope, recreation centres and retirement homes are coming together to offer facilities tours and the chance to learn about programs and services.
