Municipality of Port Hope staff have been working to develop the 2024 Capital and Operating Budget. This process is one of the most important tasks carried out by staff and takes many months of planning before it is presented to Council for consideration.

Municipal Offices Close Early November 3

Residents are advised that the following municipal buildings will close early on Friday, November 3 beginning at 1:45 p.m. for a corporate event. Please note that municipal recreation facilities remain open.
- Town Hall (56 Queen Street)
- Joint Operations Centre (284 Victoria Street N)
- Wastewater Treatment Plant (100 Lake Street)
- Water Treatment Plant (35 Marsh Street)
- Fire Administration Office (245 Ontario Street)
- Municipal Development Team Office (5 Mill Street South)

Mayor’s Drawing Contest

Last week was Local Government Week. In Celebration, the Mayor is hosting a drawing contest open to all young residents of Port Hope ages 5 to 12 years. Encourage all the little people in your life to enter! The theme of the contest is “What I love about Port Hope.”

Temporary Downtown Road Closures - October 20

Residents are advised that there will be two temporary road closures Downtown from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Friday, October 20, to accommodate a Wizard of Oz themed Costume & Puppet Parade. This Parade is in celebration of the 30th annual Vintage Film Festival in Downtown Port Hope.
Streets affected:
- Walton Street (from Ontario Street to Mill Street)
- Queen Street (from Walton Street to Augusta Street)
