Arts Festival Road Closure - August 10

A reminder that the Port Hope Arts Festival is this Saturday, August 10, throughout Downtown. Residents are advised of the following impacts to accommodate this year’s festival:
Road ClosuresAugusta Street (from Queen Street to Elias Street) will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the outdoor vendor market.
Parking Lot ClosuresThe parking lot at Town Hall will also be closed to accommodate the Port Hope Farmers Market.

Victoria Street South Closure Beginning August 12

Victoria Street (from Ridout Street to Strachan Street) will be closed beginning August 12 for approximately two weeks. This closure is facilitated by Enbridge Gas as they upgrade a portion of the main gas line that runs under the road.
The work being done by Enbridge Gas is setting the stage for a future capital project in this area. This upcoming project will focus on improving the road infrastructure, ultimately benefiting the community with better transportation and connectivity

A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.

Walton Street Reconstruction - Mid-project Progress Update

The Municipality is providing an important progress update on the Walton Street project as it passes the halfway point. Concerns have been raised within the community regarding significant project delays. The Municipality assures that these concerns are unfounded.
As with any building or construction project, minor delays have been encountered. These include:

Civic Holiday Closures

A reminder to residents that municipal administrative buildings will be closed and transit service will operate on a reduced schedule (7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) on Monday, August 5, 2024 for the Civic Holiday. Transit and municipal staff services will resume at their usual business hours on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
Municipal recreation facilities will be open at regular hours on the holiday.
