Transit Update - Cobourg Shuttle Transit Outage Continues

The Cobourg Express Shuttle continues to be temporarily out of service due to a mechanical issue.

We recognize the inconvenience caused by this service disruptions and thank our residents and transit users for their patience and understanding.

Cavan/Walton Street Intersection Closure - September 3, 2025

The intersection of Cavan Street and Walton Street will be closed on Wednesday, September 3, as part of the Walton Street Reconstruction project. This temporary closure is necessary to safely complete patching and paving work in the area where the watermain connection was made last month.

To safely carry out the work, the following road closures will be in effect beginning at 7:00 a.m. The road will re-open as soon as the work is complete:

Arts Festival Road Closure - August 9

A reminder that the Port Hope Arts Festival is this Saturday, August 9, throughout Downtown. Residents are advised of the following impacts to accommodate this year’s festival:

Road Closures

• Augusta Street (from Queen Street to Elias Street) will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accommodate the outdoor vendor market.
• Queen Street (from Walton Street to Augusta Street) will be closed from 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. to accommodate an outdoor street concert.

Temporary Road Closure and Transit Detour – Cavan and Walton Street Intersection

As part of the ongoing Walton Street Reconstruction Project, crews will be working at the intersection of Cavan Street and Walton Street on Thursday, August 7, 2025, which will include some additional road closures and a limited water shut off.

This milestone marks the final connection required to complete the upgraded water system in Phase 3 of the Project.

Civic Holiday Closures

A reminder to residents that municipal administrative buildings and the Port Hope Public Library branches will be closed on Monday, August 4, 2025 for the Civic Holiday. All services will resume at their usual business hours on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

Municipal recreation facilities, Transit service, and the Hope Transfer Station will be operate at regular hours on the holiday.
