Temporary Closure of Highland Drive

Highland Drive, between the Jack Burger Sports Complex and Port Hope Public High School, will be temporarily closed on Thursday and Friday of this week to allow for critical enhancements to our watermain system. This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of both the public and our construction teams.

Transit Changes to Accommodate the Walton Street Reconstruction

With the upcoming closure of Walton Street for phase two of the Walton Street Reconstruction Project, Transit Services will be implementing route changes beginning Monday, April 15, and will continue until the completion of the Walton Street Reconstruction project in the fall.
To ensure continued transit service, we have arranged for modified transit routes during this period. Please take note of the following changes:

Filming Downtown – April 14 to 19

As many have noticed, our beautiful Downtown is looking a little different again. These changes are only temporary to accommodate filming for the production “Fairview” that will be taking place on Walton Street and Queen Street
Residents can expect temporary parking impacts, road closures, transit re-routes, and intermittent traffic stops that may cause delays. Pedestrian traffic and storefront access will be maintained. Port Hope is still open for business during filming!

Filming Activities on Queen Street – March 27 and 28

Reaper’s Image Productions is expected back in Downtown Port Hope next week to film more scenes for their upcoming project, “Greetings from Fairview”. Set dressing will be taking place from March 24 to 26 with filming on March 27 and 28 inside and outside the Capitol Theatre. Please be advised of the following impacts:
Wednesday, March 27- Queen Street (from Walton Street to Augusta Street)
- Intermittent pedestrian delays: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- Intermittent traffic stops: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Transit Route B - February 12 Re-route

Residents are advised that Transit Route B will be rerouted on Monday, February 12 due to the Barrett Street closure. Stops B4 and B5 will not be in service for the day. We apologize for any inconvenience.
