The sanitary sewer and water infrastructure under Walton Street is aging and requires replacement to ensure continued servicing to the downtown. To accommodate new sewers, watermains, and building services, most of Walton Street will need to be dug up, meaning many sections of sidewalk and curb will also need to be removed and replaced.

PRC User Fee Review

Staff has conducted a review of Parks, Recreation, and Culture user fees. This process involves a thorough assessment of the market using municipal comparators as well as surrounding communities who have similar facilities.
The proposed fees are posted on the My Port Hope community engagement site for review and public comment.
Notable changes are proposed for user fees associated with:

- Pool and aquatics programming

The Municipality is gearing up for another round of public engagement for the Walton Street reconstruction project. From Thursday, September 9 to Wednesday, September 14, 2021, municipal staff and the project consultant will be conducting a traffic simulation on Walton Street at Ontario Street where they will simulate the removal of the turning lane and monitor the traffic flow data.
