The Province of Ontario has announced that the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit - including Northumberland County - will move from the Green (Prevent) category of the Provincial COVID-19 Response Framework to the Yellow (Protect) category as of 12:01 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2020, in an effort to prevent additional spread of COVID-19 in our community.

2021 Budget Consultation

Residents are advised that the 2021 proposed budget documents have been posted for public reviewand open to receive comments from residents.
A presentation of the proposed budget will take place at the upcoming Special Meeting of Finance Committee on Monday, December 7 and continue on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Members of the public can participate in this meeting. Meeting participation information will be posted on the meeting agenda, once it is ready and posted online.

Suction Dredging in Outer Harbour

Residents are advised that the Municipality of Port Hope is conducting a suction dredge of the Port Hope outer harbour. The dredging begins on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
The Municipality and Cameco Corporation have been working collaboratively to resolve issues related to Cameco’s cooling water intake, located along the west harbour wall, which has been impacted by sedimentation deposits. Cameco’s Conversion Facility continues to operate safely.
