Upcoming Filming Activities May 29 and 30, 2023

Filming continues in Port Hope for the production “Greetings from Fairview” taking place on Walton Street, Queen Street, Mill Street South, Augusta Street and in some residential areas. Residents can continue to expect temporary parking impacts, road closures and intermittent traffic stops that may cause delays. Pedestrian traffic and storefront access will be maintained.

Today, members of Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services met with Carl Eggiman, the Ontario representative for Firefighters Without Borders Canada, at Fire Station 2 in Welcome to donate hundreds of items of used firefighting equipment to Firefighters Without Borders Canada, an organization that provides firefighting equipment to departments in need around the world.

Draft Waterfront and Riverwalk Master Plan Engagement

At the Committee of the Whole meeting on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, staff and the consultant presented the Draft Waterfront and Riverwalk Master Plan. The Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee directed staff to publicly post the draft Master Plan for community review.
Once complete, the updated Waterfront and Riverwalk Master Plan will assist the Municipality in planning and developing a desirable and sustainable waterfront by forming a vision, design guidelines, and implementation strategy.

Residents are advised that a Special Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.
