2026 Mayor’s Budget Posted
The 2026 Mayor’s Budget is now available for public review on the Budget Engagement webpage at engage.porthope.ca/2026-budget.
At a Special Council Meeting held on Tuesday, January 13, Council reviewed and discussed the staff-proposed budget collaboratively. Highlights from the meeting can be found in the latest Council newsletter.
To meet provincial requirements, the Mayor has officially brought forward the budget, which reflects what Council discussed at their meeting.
The Mayor will present the Budget at the Council Meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
Statement from the Mayor:
“On Tuesday, Council and I met to review and finalize our recommendations for the 2026 budget. It was a very collaborative process, and I appreciated everyone’s input. At the meeting, I asked Council to support my decision to further reduce the levy impact, bringing the increase down to 2.7%. With that work complete, I’m now bringing forward the Mayor’s Budget, as required under the Province’s Strong Mayor Powers legislation. I’m confident this budget reflects our shared priorities and supports strategic future growth for the community in a responsible and sustainable way.”
