Please be advised that Augusta Street (from Queen Street to Elias Street) will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2. This temporary closure is required to facilitate the installation of the new veterans crosswalk.
Approved by Council on July 21, 2026, the veterans crosswalk is a collaborative initiative between the Municipality of Port Hope and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 30, with funding and design input provided by the Legion and project coordination provided by the Municipality. The crosswalk is intended to honour local veterans and serve as a lasting tribute to their service and sacrifice.
We invite residents to join us for the official unveiling of the veterans crosswalk during the Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Cenotaph on November 11.
