Residents are advised of the following impacts to service due to the upcoming Civic Holiday.
Administrative building closures
Municipal administrative buildings will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2026 for the Civic holiday. Services will resume on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at their usual operating hours.
For urgent services related to water, wastewater or roads, call 905-885-2431 and press * to reach our after-hours emergency line.
Other Municipal Services
Please note the following services will also be unavailable or on a modified schedule on August 3:
- Transit Service - Modified Schedule (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
- The Hope Transfer Station - Closed
- Recreational Facilities:
- Jack Burger Sports Complex - Regular hours
- Town Park Recreation Centre - Regular hours
- Port Hope Public Library:
- Mary J. Benson Branch - Closed
- Canton Hub Branch - Closed
All above services will resume on Tuesday, August 4 at their usual operating hours.
Long weekend safety reminder
A reminder that Burn permits are required for controlled open air burning, within the Municipality. Only recreational burning is permitted in the urban area. Burn permits can now be issued through our online permit portal. Don't forget to call in and activate your permit before having your fire.
