In 2024, during Phase 2 of the Walton Street Reconstruction, an issue occurred with a newly poured section of sidewalk between John Street and Queen Street. As a result, the affected section of sidewalk needs to be removed and replaced.
Beginning on June 15, 2026, Don Oliver Excavating will perform this work, with an anticipated completion timeline of approximately one week, weather permitting. All new sidewalks will be monitored until cured to mitigate damage.
We recognize that this work will cause a temporary inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding while this necessary repair is completed. During construction, you may notice:
- Temporary sidewalk closures
- Foot bridges provided to maintain access to businesses
- Construction-related noise
- Potential dust in the work area
- Parking spaces temporarily occupied by construction activity
Please know that every effort will be made to complete the work as safely and efficiently as possible while minimizing impacts to the surrounding area.
