Municipal Community Advisory Committee (“CAC”) for the PHAI Meeting – Tuesday, August 25, 2026
At its meeting held on July 21, 2026, Council passed By-law 44-2026, formally recognizing the Municipality of Port Hope as fulfilling the functions of the Community Advisory Committee (“CAC”), as defined in the 2001 Legal Agreement with Canada for the Port Hope Area Initiative (“PHAI”), and adopting the finalized Terms of Reference.
Council also requested that a meeting of the Community Advisory Committee be convened prior to August 30, 2026.
Accordingly, a Community Advisory Committee Meeting has been scheduled as follows:
- Date: Tuesday, August 25, 2026
- Time: 5:00 p.m.
- Location: Council Chambers, Town Hall
- Address: 56 Queen Street, Port Hope
At this meeting, it is anticipated that members of the Community Advisory Committee will discuss the selection of a CAC Chair, a proposed meeting schedule, an overview of issues discussed at the Presidents’ Meeting and future outcomes discussion planning, as well as potential mechanisms for residents to provide comments and concerns to the CAC.
There will be a Public Comment/Question Period to give residents an opportunity to provide comments or ask questions pertaining to matters within the mandate of the CAC.
