2022 Municipal and School Board Elections -
Notice to All Municipal Electors in the Municipality of Port Hope
This notice is for anyone interested in being a candidate in the 2022 municipal and school board elections on October 24, 2022. Nominations for the positions listed below must be filed on the prescribed form available, either in person or by your agent, with the Returning Officer during normal office hours between Monday, May 2, 2022 and Thursday, August 18, 2022, and on Nomination Day, Friday, August 19, 2022 between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Each potential candidate must file the prescribed endorsement of nomination form signed by at least 25 individuals who are:
- Canadian citizens
- aged 18 or older
- eligible voters in the Municipality of Port Hope (School Board candidates are exempt from this requirement)
The required filing fee for the Head of Council (Mayor) is $200.00 and all other offices are $100.00 (cash, debit, a certified cheque or money order made payable to the Municipality of Port Hope) and must accompany the signed form.
Candidates must not spend or raise any funds for their election campaign until the registration / nomination form has been filed. Two (2) Trustees to be elected for the combined area of Alnwick/Haldimand Township, Town of Cobourg, Hamilton Township, Municipality of Trent Hills, and the Municipality of Port Hope. Nominations for these positions must be filed in the Town of Cobourg Municipal Clerk’s Office, 55 King Street West, Cobourg. |

Nominations for this position must be filed in the City of Oshawa Municipal Clerk’s Office, 50 Centre Street South, Oshawa. |
