Port Hope’s Signature Events Recognized Among Ontario’s Best

For the fourth year in a row, the Municipality of Port Hope’s flagship events, the Candlelight Festival and the Arts Festival, have earned spots on Festivals & Events Ontario’s (FEO) 2026 Top 100 Festivals and Events list.  

This distinction considers events that have community impact, originality, economic benefits and overall popularity. Being named on the Top 100 list recognizes these festivals as exceptional leaders in the industry.  

“Being honoured again this year highlights the strength and vibrancy of our local events," notes Mayor Olena Hankivsky. "It’s a testament to the teamwork, imagination, and dedication that continue to elevate Port Hope as a destination for memorable community experiences and continues to make Port Hope’s festivals stand out.” 

Submissions were received for consideration in the fall of 2025 and were judged by an independent panel of judges. The selection process featured a diverse range of festivals and events from across Ontario, spanning local community celebrations to internationally renowned experiences.  

Port Hope’s Arts Festival returns this year on Saturday, August 8, 2026, and the Candlelight Festival kicks-off with the beloved Candlelight Walk on Friday, November 27, 2026.
