Special Council Meeting - April 2, 2026
A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 56 Queen Street, Port Hope.
At this meeting, Council will move into a closed session in accordance with the Municipal Act, 2001, to address the following matters:
- An update on litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or a local board (Section 239(2)(e); and advice that is subject to solicitor/client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose - Section 239(2)(f).
- The CAO’s Quarterly Confidential Update to Council, related to personal matters about identifiable individuals, including municipal or local board employees – Section 239(2)(b); labour relations or employee negotiations – Section 239(2)(d); a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board – Section 239(2)(c) and a position, plan, procedure, criteria or instruction to be applied to any negotiations carried on or to be carried on by or on behalf of the municipality or local board – Section 239(2)(k).
Council will also receive education and training on innovative technologies in municipal governance, in accordance with Section 239(3.1) of the Municipal Act, 2001. No decisions will be made during this portion of the meeting.
